Gulf Coast Wesley considers itself to be in mission all the time. From our weekly gatherings, to coffee on campus, to traveling abroad — Wesley’s goal is not to “do” missions, but be in mission. Wherever we are, whatever we are up to — our aim is to do it for God.
In the Spring of 2013 our students went on a mission trip to Zimbabwe, Africa. On this trip, our students joined with other young adults from Wesley Foundations across the state to minister and join in fellowship with the students of Africa University. The Africa University is a private United Methodist associated university that has more than 1,200 students from 22 individual African countries. The goal of this trip was to create relationships between the students in Florida and those of Africa in order to create more opportunities for service in the future.
In Summer of 2014 several of our students partnered with a local organization called “Youth4Orphans” to go on a meaningful mission trip to CAT island, Bahamas. This trip was an exciting chance for our students to experience an aspect of serving that included being an extension of God’s love to the children at a small orphanage on the island. The students went with the intent of making a difference in these children’s lives, but it was the orphans that really changed our students hearts. Check out the missions blog below to see photos and testimonials from the trip.
Summer 2015 a group of five members of Gulf Coast Wesley joined with a group from Campus to City Wesley on a trip to Cuba.
We are looking to gather information and ideas on possible upcoming missions trips. Please contact us to indicate your interest in going on a mission trip with us and tell us about where you may want to go!
